Abstract

The urban drainage has become one of the most important parts of amenities. Security of long-term function of sewer system and sewage treatment plant is associated with constantly rising costs and it is clear nowadays that the contemporary method of the urban drainage is not possible to be realized worldwide because of the financial reasons. The existing method of the urban drainage continues to threaten the status of water flow and water source. Urban hydrology has evolved to improve the way urban runoff is managed for flood protection, public health and environmental protection. The essence of the future solution resides in finding of an acceptable compromise of an alternative solution of rainwater drainage from the area. The purpose of this paper is research focused on the infiltration of water from surface runoff and comparison of ground testing, laboratory analysis and numerical analysis. The foundation for improving and effectiveness of urban drainage will be created by the comparison and the proposal of infiltration conditions. Topic of the paper emerged because of the insufficient information about infiltration systems in the Slovak technical regulations and missing support of water infiltration from surface runoff. This paper points out the progress, principles and fundamentals of proposal infiltration. The aim of the paper is to expand the body of scientific knowledge in research and solutions infiltration of water from surface runoff with emphasis on the retention capacity of the selected area and intensity of precipitation.
